Sustainable Health Choices (SHC) began 2009 by hosting the first event of SHC’s “Evening of Wellbeing” series at The HIVE last week. Over 40 people enjoyed hot tea, delicious, food, live kora music, and each other. We shared some recipes that we love such as Kale wraps with a Miso dipping sauce, an Orange Carrot Ginger Dip, and other delicious recipes. We invited many people in the SHC community and in turn they invited a friend who had not been introduced yet to Sustainable Health Choices.

We announced the expansion of a program called “Touch of Wellbeing.” This exciting program is a great gift to yourself in 2009 and will begin on February 5th. The program will be offered as a 3-month lifestyle and wellness program for a small group of individuals looking to expand healthy living habits. Read more about the program here.

This was the first event of our series that we plan to hold every couple of months! Check back on our website for an announcement of our next “Evening of Wellbeing”.

Miriam, Holistic Health Counselor, was featured in the News & Record on Wednesday, January 7th, “Plan Healthy Dinners for $10 or Less.”  Click here to read more!  You can see how she made a healthy meal with ingredients from Deep Roots Market and a local Carniceria.
